Our February selection is Mona’s Eyes by Thomas Schlesser.
Set in the Louvre, the novel follows a grandfather and his young granddaughter as they walk through the museum together while she is gradually losing her eyesight. Each visit centers on a different work of art, giving them a way to spend time together and talk as her vision fades.
Thomas Schlesser is an art historian and museum director, and the story is shaped by his deep familiarity with museums and art education.
We’ll be discussing Mona’s Eyes on Tuesday, February 24th at 8pm EST on Zoom.
