Our March selection is Piranesi by Susanna Clarke.
Set within an immense and mysterious House filled with endless halls, towering statues, and tides that move rhythmically through its chambers, the novel follows Piranesi, a careful observer who documents the beauty and patterns of his surroundings. The House feels like a living work of art, part architecture and part sculpture, inviting reflection on creativity, perception, and the meaning we assign to what we see. As Piranesi continues his explorations, subtle clues and the presence of another figure begin to introduce a quiet but compelling mystery, suggesting that both the House and his own past may hold hidden truths waiting to be uncovered.
We’ll be discussing Piranesi on Tuesday, March 31 at 8pm EST on Zoom.
