A New Kind of Marketplace for Design and Construction Trade Pros
Buy it. Sell it. Pass it on.
The idea for this group started with a tall fireplace and a stubborn problem.
My brother, a decorative painter who works in the interior design field, was trying to find a scaffolding set — just a basic, used one that would help him safely reach the upper sections of an unusually tall fireplace on a client’s project. What should’ve been a simple task turned into a frustrating scavenger hunt. He eventually tracked one down, but it required driving a considerable distance and spending time chasing leads on platforms not designed with tradespeople in mind.
That moment stuck with me.
Most of us in the interior design and construction world have extra gear or materials tucked away in our studios or garages — tools we’ve upgraded from, display pieces we no longer need, sample sets from product reps, or even job leftovers that could be useful to someone else. But selling them? That’s a different story. Craigslist and general buy/sell groups aren’t designed for our industry, and posting to those platforms often leads to more hassle than it’s worth.
So I created something new:
🔗 The Design & Construction Trades Marketplace
This private Facebook group is for trade professionals only — decorative painters, installers, cabinet makers, wallpaper hangers, tile pros, and others who bring design visions to life. It’s a space where you can:
List physical tools, gear, samples, or furnishings you no longer need
Request items you’re searching for locally
Connect with fellow pros who understand what you're listing — and why it matters
There are no promotions, no digital downloads, and no off-topic clutter. Just peer-to-peer support in a field where even one piece of the right gear can make the job smoother — or safer.
If you’ve ever thought, “I don’t need this anymore, but someone else probably does,” this space is for you.
Come join us. Browse. List. Ask. Trade.
We’re here to keep good tools moving and good people connected.
